提出了一种广谱性的固相硼化策略，可以直接将廉价的金属片材（铁、钴、镍、镍铁合金、不锈钢）转化为高性能的水氧化电极材料。主要结论包括：
1、相比金属片，硼化的金属片活性提升一个数量级以上。
2、催化活性相是原位产生的、2-5纳米厚度的、偏硼酸根掺杂的MOOH。
3、硼化的镍铁合金片打破了水氧化催化剂本征活性的壁垒—<320 mV过电势实现10 mA/cmcat2，稳定性超过3000小时。
4、硼化可以显著提高材料的抗腐蚀性，廉价的富铁材料（硼化不锈钢）高效稳定催化水氧化反应。

1、催化活性存在一定的周期性：VIII>VIIB>VIB>VB>IV二硼化物；
2、d能带中心可以作为金属二硼化物的活性描述符；
3、预测并确认RuB2能呈现Pt一样的催化活性。
